Snowdrop Drama Poster Similar to La La Land, Korean Drama Lovers Are Angry

The official poster for the Korean drama Snowdrop has drawn criticism from netizens. The drama, which is taken from the history of the struggle of Korean students, is considered to be similar to a Hollywood movie promotion.
Instead of igniting the enthusiasm of Korean drama fans, the poster of the drama starring BLACKPINK’s Jisoo was ridiculed.
“Like a copy of the La La Land poster,” wrote Korean netizens quoted from Koreaboo, Wednesday (6/10/2021).
Snowdrop is planned as a winter vacation drama later this year. Since it was announced that it would be starring Jisoo BLACKPINK, Snowdrop was watched by many pairs of eyes waiting for the presence of the musician.
BLACKPINK’s Jisoo will compete with Jung Hae In as the male lead. “I really hate it,” wrote another netizen commenting on the poster.
“Why is the poster so ugly… like the KBS weekend drama poster from 10 years ago,” wrote a netizen
This Snowdrop poster is similar to the poster for the film La La Land which was released in 2016. Showing Hae In and Jisoo dancing in a large room, the poses of the two artists are similar to the poses of Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone in the La La Land poster.
The dark blue shades that come from the spotlight also add to the resemblance of these two posters. Even so, in terms of story, this drama is certainly very much different from La La Land.
Snowdrop tells the story of the largest demonstration in South Korean history towards a democratic state in 1987. In the midst of this chaos, there is a student named Im Soo Ho who is the focus of the story.
One day, when Soo Ho is being targeted by the authorities who are trying to eradicate the demonstrators. He is rescued by Eun Young Ro, a nursing student who hid Soo Ho inside his dorm.
Slowly but surely, hiding in the midst of this crisis grows the seeds of love between the two of them. Featuring Jisoo as Young Ro and Hae In as Soo Ho, Snowdrop will air this December at an undetermined date. /celebrities.id
