TWICE Admits It's Difficult to Memorize Lyrics Now

Nayeon explained the reason because they are currently singing in many foreign languages. With Korean as his first language, it was only natural that he would find it harder to remember.

TWICE has released hundreds of songs since their debut in October 2015. According to the girl group in an interview with Seventeen, there is a marked difference in the amount of time it takes them to memorize lyrics now compared to before.

Nayeon explained the reason because they are currently singing in many foreign languages. With Korean as his first language, it’s only natural that he finds it harder to remember non-Korean words.

“For this question… There are more songs translated from Korean. So for me, by memorizing our foreign language lyrics, it’s now more difficult,” said the 1995-born singer.

Sana agreed and added that they usually have more time to practice their songs before it’s time to record them. Not only do they have to sing in Korean, Japanese, and English, they also have a little time to perfect it.

“Also, before, I thought we had more time to practice the songs we were going to record. Yes, now there are more songs to record by country,” the Japanese idol added.

In the same interview, TWICE was asked how long it took them to learn choreography and whether that has changed since then. Momo revealed that in the past, some members took longer than others to learn the choreography.

Nayeon explained why this is so, saying that they are usually given less time for choreography lessons. Unlike before, they were now given longer time to memorize the dances.

“But I think at that time, we had less time to learn choreography. We had a tighter time to learn it compared to now,” said Nayeon. “Now everyone learns it fast,” added Momo. (wk/goddess)
