As an idol from Thailand, BLACK PINK Lisa is called a role model. Regarding this, Lisa shared her honest thoughts about being called a role model for many children in her home country.

Recently, the BLACKPINK members had their individual interview with Rolling Stone. During the interview, it was mentioned that Lisa was a role model that she described in the 2020 Netflix documentary “BLACKPINK: Light Up the Sky”.

“I’m a role model in Thailand, but I don’t even know what kind of musician I will become,” he says in the film. To this, Lisa explains, “Every time I go to Thailand, there’s a new generation of babies who all look at me, ‘I want to be like LISA unnie!’ But when I look at myself, I am lacking in many ways. There are many things I don’t know because I am young,” he said.

“They see me as an idol, but I still don’t think I’m perfect enough to be their idol. Have I arrived yet? Am I ready? I’m actually really curious. I’m an idol to those kids? I still feel like I still have a long way to go ,” said Lisa later.

Lisa recalled how she met a trainee from Thailand who reminded her of when she was in that position. Because she knew the trainee closely, Lisa took care of the trainee and talked about the trainee’s dreams.

“There was a Thai trainee who reminded me of when I was young. I tried to take care of him. It’s not about giving advice; we eat together, go shopping. He is 17 years old and has been here for almost two years,” he explained.

“I once asked her if there was anything she was struggling with? And she started crying. ‘I want to dance like you, unnie, but I’m so bad, and I’m so sad about it.’ I just told him, ‘Keep practicing!'” Lisa explained.

When asked about her recent visit to Thailand, Lisa said that it had only been three years since she had been able to return. Lisa was very happy to meet her family.

“This is the first time in three years. My mom and dad are getting old. Whenever I have time, I want to go back to Thailand. I don’t want to waste time and I want to see them as often as possible,” he said. (wk/taki)
