‘The Uncanny Counter’ Season 2 has provided a progress update which is confirmed if the main cast are all returning to star in the continuation of this series.

After a long wait for the second season, the OCN drama “The Uncanny Counter” which broke the highest viewership rating of 11% in January 2021 has provided an update on its progress. Surprisingly, the production team accelerated its preparations for broadcast by casting the lead role for season 2.

As revealed by an announcer on Sunday (26/6), the main character in season 1 will reportedly return to star in the continuation of season 2. Including Jo Byeong Gyu, Yoo Jun Sang, Kim Sejeong and Yeom Hye Ran will reprise their roles in the new season.

After going through the story in season 1, the cast will continue to turn into counters against evil spirits. When season 1 was released, “The Uncanny Counter” gained great popularity because it was judged as a Korean-style hero drama. As a result, the production team decided to expand the drama more than one season early.

From 2018 to 2021, this drama was developed based on the webtoon “Amazing Rumor” by writer Jang Yi. The production team is focused on casting a new evil spirit who will lead the core of the story. One of them is rookie actress Kim Hieora.

It is known that he has been working as a musical actor since 2009 and made a late debut on the small screen through JTBC’s “Beyond Evil” in 2021. Previously, in January this year, he caught the attention of viewers by showing action scenes in tvN’s “Bad and Crazy”.

In this way, “The Uncanny Counter” season 2 is expected to double its refreshing charm by placing foreign actors in the leading position. In season 1, new actors Choi Gwang Il and Lee Hong Nae also played demons and received an overwhelming response.

However, filming for “The Uncanny Counter” season 2 has been postponed until the fall. This is because Jo Byeong Gyu and Kim Sejeong were busy filming their next dramas one after another as they emerged as rising K-drama stars since “The Uncanny Counter” aired.

The two are reportedly actively discussing filming schedules as they have expressed their willingness to participate in the drama. Although the presence of Jo Byeoung Gyu was feared that he would not participate because of the bullying rumors that dragged him down, it seems that this problem did not stop the actor from working in the drama industry.

Meanwhile, it is not known exactly when the drama “The Uncanny Counter” season 2 will premiere. Even so, loyal viewers breathe because the lead of the main character in this drama is still and continues. (wk/taki)
