Emotionally caught, IU reveals how it feels to attend the 2022 Cannes Film Festival

At a recent ‘Broker’ press conference, IU revealed how it felt to know that she was a candidate for the best actress award by foreign media.

IU attended the “Broker” press conference held at the Palais des Festivals on Friday (27/5). The press conference was held as part of the Cannes Film Festival 2022 in France.

At the press conference, IU expressed her surprise to see many fans who came to support her. “I really didn’t expect that so many fans had gathered since I entered Cannes to the red carpet event,” said IU.

“Even on the red carpet, I saw fans holding my CD and asking for an autograph, so I thought it was a hidden camera. A lot of things happened yesterday,” added IU.

IU also drew the spotlight for being caught so emotional after the official screening of “Broker”. “It’s true that I was touched and overwhelmed, but in reality, my eyes didn’t turn red,” said IU.

“I know it because it’s my body. There is no change in my eyes. It’s a bit difficult to explain, but it’s true that I was overwhelmed by emotional feelings,” added IU.

IU was then asked if she saw herself as a candidate for the Best Actress award during the evaluation of “Broker” by foreign media. “I’m not looking for this content myself,” replied IU.

“The official told me. I read some of the translated ones, and of course it was very enjoyable. I hope to receive a good response in Korea too,” said IU.

IU then shared her feelings about attending the 2022 Cannes Film Festival. “I couldn’t feel anything yesterday. When I opened my eyes, I was here. When told to stand up, I was there,” said IU.

“I wonder if this will happen in my life. I’ve been active for a long time and have experienced many things, but yesterday was a special day in my life. But I was nervous and confused, so I didn’t really enjoy it,” concluded IU. (wk/charity)
