IU reminisced about the times when Song Joong Ki and Song Hye Kyo were still a couple. The ex-husband and wife attended his concert in 2018.

In an episode of Knowing Brother, IU recounted the moment that had made her embarrassed and glued. He was surprised to see Song Joong Ki and Song Hye Kyo in the front row at his concert.

“Song Hye Kyo, Song Joong Ki, and Park Sol Mi came. When I went on stage and looked at the audience, Song Hye Kyo and Song Joong Ki were in the front row,” said IU, who is currently promoting the film Broker.

The owner of the real name Lee Ji Eun admitted that she had lost for words when their eyes met. Even though according to him, personally he doesn’t know Song Hye Kyo and Song Joong Ki well.

“Our eyes met shortly after I went on stage. My head was empty and I could only see the two of them. We didn’t know each other personally, but they came to my concert. I was very surprised and throughout the concert I was very nervous,” he said again.

What surprised IU even more was the fact that Song Joong Ki and Song Hye Kyo remained in their seats until the concert was over. As is known, IU’s concerts can usually last for hours because the encore is unpredictable.

This further added to the uneasy feeling in IU’s heart. After the concert was over, the couple who had been known as the Song-Song couple then contacted him directly.

“I was so nervous that I kept nodding throughout the concert. That nervous! Then he called me, sent a short message and told them they had left the concert location and were enjoying the show,” concluded IU.

In 2022, IU will have many new projects. What he is currently promoting is the film Broker directed by Koreeda Hirokazu. The film will premiere at the Cannes Film Festival and IU is scheduled to attend the event.

Koreeda Hirokazu is a Japanese director who is known for his film Shoplifters which won the Palme d’Or at the 2018 Cannes Film Festival. The film, which successfully stole the world’s attention, stars Mayu Matsuoka to Kairi Jo. The broker itself is played by Song Kang Ho, IU, Kang Dong Won, to Bae Doona. /hot.detik.com
