SM Rookies is known to be a term for trainees who have been introduced to the public. The introduction of SM Rookies has been done for a long time, starting from members of Red Velvet, NCT, and AESPA.

SM Entertainment introduced the new SMRookies after 4 years. This well-known agency was last known to introduce SMRookies in 2018 to show several trainees who are now debuting as WayV.

The last SMRookies members introduced earlier were Yangyang, Xiaojun, and Hendery. Meanwhile, Kun and Lucas were introduced at the end of 2017 along with Jungwoo who then debuted at NCT through the album “Empathy at the end of 2018.

WayV then debuted in 2019 with the formation of Kun, Lucas, Hendery, Xiaojun, Yangyang, and Ten and Winwin who previously debuted on NCT U and NCT 127. WayV was officially introduced as a sub unit of NCT in 2020 through the album “Resonance”.

There are allegations that Eunseok, Shohei, and Seunghan will soon debut and join NCT. The appearance of members from Japan is said to further strengthen that the NCT Tokyo sub unit will actually appear.

If it’s true that Eunseok, Shohei, and Seunghan will be the next NCT members, then it is very likely that they will be in the same sub unit as Shotaro and Sungchan. However, SM Entertainment still has not provided further information regarding these 3 handsome SMRookies. (wk/alpha)
